    Erdbrink studeerde aan de School voor de Journalistiek in Utrecht. In won hij de Ton Hoogenboomprijs voor enkele artikelen in het Leidsch Dagblad, onder andere over asbest en het bezoek van de Japanse keizer.

    Daarna werkte hij voor NRC en Nieuwe Revu.
